在經過數個月的嚴格審查，英國美髮雜誌先驅HJ(Hairdressers Journal)於7月30日宣布2014年British Hairdressing Awards（BHA）的最終決選名單，共計九個區域類別和六個專家領域，各六名入選者，入選者需再提交四張照片，進行第二輪，所有作品都為匿名評分，因此過程完全公正。評審陣容包括美髮界的重量級人物Hall of Fame的成員（獲BHA同獎項三次以上的設計師）以及歷屆BHA最佳髮型師的得主。

BHA是由HJ雜誌於1985年和施華蔻(Schwarzkopf Professional)共同舉辦，主旨在於鼓勵美髮人，並獎勵對美髮界有貢獻的設計師，繼續帶領潮流，提攜後進。每年，HJ雜誌請美髮界巨頭和國內外媒體提名幾位優秀的髮型師，並共同評選出該年度最佳髮型師，這些髮型師需具備專業能力、獨到眼光和創造力，更重要的，他們都是英國或國際美髮界的形象大使。

 

其餘獎項皆開放給所有英國國內髮型師自由參加，透過提供的照片，評審將依據畫面中呈現的創造力、技巧和天分做為評判標準，更因為比賽採取匿名機制，所有髮型師，不論有名與否，只要具備相當的實力，都能一起在BHA的舞台上公平競爭。

 

今年，HJ雜誌將在11月24日於倫敦格羅夫納酒店舉辦頒獎典禮，並於現場公布究竟獎落誰家，最佳髮型師的入圍者也會展現精采的髮型秀。
